Tehran's stance
According to sources, Iran intends to press on with military operations, emphasizing that it will not back down from its chosen strategy.
"Iran intends to continue its offense 'until the aggressor is punished...' No significant damage has been done to Iran's missile and defense capabilities, and Iran has prepared itself for a long war," a source told CNN.
Tehran claims that recent strikes have not undermined its combat readiness.
Its defense sector remains operational, allowing it to prepare for extended confrontation.
US, Israel launch major strike
The Middle East erupted into large-scale military confrontation on February 28, 2026.
Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran to neutralize security threats, prompting a nationwide state of emergency.
It later emerged that the attack was a joint operation between Israel and the United States. President Donald Trump called the action necessary to eliminate "imminent threats" from the Iranian regime, comparing its scale to the largest operations during the Iraq war.
Israeli officials describe the operation as the largest airstrike in the country's history, involving hundreds of aircraft.
The actions by Washington and Tel Aviv appear aimed at dismantling the regime's military capabilities entirely, preventing further escalation, and curbing Iran's nuclear leverage.
