Iran port explosion: Death toll rises to 8, nearly 750 injured

The aftermath of a massive fire continues to be addressed at Shahid Rajaee Port in Iran. The number of those injured is approaching 750, reports Mehr News.
According to the latest statistics released by Iran's Minister of the Interior, Eskandar Momeni, the death toll from the explosion has risen to 8. Nearly 750 people have been injured.
The Interior Minister reported that, as of now, 212 people have received outpatient care. The rest have been sent to medical facilities in the province, neighboring cities, and even adjacent provinces.
It is known that in the last few hours, the fire has intensified, and the flames have spread to nearby cargo containers.
The cause of the incident remains unknown, as relevant authorities are still conducting an investigation. Local authorities believe the explosion occurred due to one of the cargo containers at the port.
Explosion at Iranian port
Today, on April 26, a powerful explosion occurred at a port in southern Iran. The epicenter of the explosion was an administrative building near the pier.
The incident took place around 12:30 PM local time at Shahid Rajaee Port. Rapid response teams arrived at the scene promptly.
Initially, media reports indicated 516 people were injured, and four people were killed.
Due to the explosion, port operations were suspended so rescue and security services could bring the situation under control.
