The United States has not yet made a final decision on the possibility of a military strike against Iran, despite frustrations over the nuclear negotiations, Times of Israel reports.
The White House's position
The US President stressed that he is not a proponent of a military scenario, but considers it a last resort due to Tehran's position.
According to Trump, Iran refuses to provide clear guarantees of a full halt to its nuclear weapons program.
"I don’t want to, but sometimes you have to… Iran will never have nuclear weapons… Not on my watch," the US leader said.
He added that, although a strike decision has not been made, Washington is still seeking to reach a new agreement immediately.
Diplomatic efforts and regime change
Despite the tough rhetoric, the US continues to seek diplomatic channels through intermediaries. In particular, Vice President JD Vance is expected to meet with Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs.
At the same time, Trump did not rule out that the situation could lead to a change of leadership in Tehran.
"There may or may not be regime change in Iran," he said, adding that such a development could be positive.
Tensions rise in the region
Previously, US President Donald Trump emphasized that the key goal of talks with Tehran is a complete Iranian renunciation of nuclear weapons development.
However, according to media reports, Iran has rejected the nuclear deal proposed by Trump, effectively bringing negotiations to a deadlock.
Amid the lack of diplomatic progress, Trump has already been presented with options if the negotiations are ultimately suspended.
The situation in the region remains extremely tense — the UK and US have begun evacuating diplomats’ families from Iran, a move experts see as a potential step toward military conflict.
