Iran launched an attack on Israel using missiles today, October 1. Iranian forces fired approximately 200 rockets, stated US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized that Iran's attack on Israel was "totally unacceptable" ahead of his meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. He stated that the world must condemn Tehran's actions.
Blinken specified that the attack involved "some 200 ballistic missiles," while Israeli military officials previously reported 180 rockets fired.
The Secretary added that Israel "effectively defeated this attack."
Attack on Israel
Today, Israel experienced a series of explosions during the Iranian missile attack. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported intercepting a large number of the 180 rockets launched.
However, the Israeli military acknowledged that some rockets struck central and southern parts of the country.
Meanwhile, Iranian media claim that Israeli F-35s and a military base were allegedly hit during the attack.
American forces assisted Israel in intercepting aerial targets during the barrage.
