Iran gives US ultimatum for new negotiations

Iran has no intention of resuming diplomatic talks with the US over its nuclear program as long as Israel continues striking its facilities, states Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
He was responding to France, Germany, and the UK, which had announced their readiness to resume negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program with US participation.
“Iran is ready to consider diplomacy once again, once the aggression is stopped and the aggressor is held accountable for the crimes committed,” Araghchi said.
The head of Iran’s foreign ministry stated that Tehran has nothing to discuss with Washington as long as it remains an accomplice to the crimes.
He added that Tehran is open to hearing the views of European partners and is ready for new meetings and discussions soon.
Talks with Iran
The US proposed creating a regional consortium for uranium enrichment outside of Iran. US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed the issue. Iran rejected the American proposal.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a comprehensive diplomatic initiative being prepared by France in coordination with the UK and Germany. The focus is on Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
Later, the foreign ministers of France, Germany, and the UK declared their readiness to continue negotiations with Iran but emphasized the necessity of US participation in the diplomatic process.
For his part, US President Donald Trump stated that Iran has two weeks to return to the negotiating table. The White House added that during this time, the president will decide whether Washington will take part in Israel’s operation against Iran.
