Iran admits cooperation with Kremlin and Beijing: Aiming to prevent EU sanctions

Iran is cooperating with Russia and China to prevent European countries from reinstating sanctions over the revival of its nuclear program, Barron’s informs.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced the country’s cooperation with Russia and China, admitting that the three regimes are working together to prevent the UK, France, and Germany from reinstating sanctions if Iran resumes its nuclear program.
"We will try to prevent it. We are working with China and Russia to stop it. If this does not work and they apply it, we have tools to respond. We will discuss them in due course," Araghchi said.
The Iranian foreign minister did not go into details about how the Russian, Iranian, and Chinese regimes plan to prevent the reinstatement of European sanctions.
On August 13, the foreign ministers of the EU Trio — Germany, France, and the UK — sent a letter to the UN stating their readiness to reimpose sanctions on Iran. Restrictions that were lifted over ten years ago are planned to be reintroduced if no solution is found regarding Tehran’s nuclear program by the end of August.
Iran’s nuclear program suffered significant damage after the US attacked three nuclear facilities — Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan — using specialized bunker-buster bombs, as Iran had buried its nuclear sites deep underground.
US President Donald Trump claimed that the attacks destroyed Iran’s nuclear program. However, media reports indicated that Iran managed to remove enriched uranium, which is necessary for nuclear weapons, meaning Tehran could theoretically restart its nuclear program.
