Iran could have removed most of the highly enriched uranium from the Fordow facility before the US attack. The staff at the facility was also reduced, reports Reuters.

According to Iranian high-ranking sources, before the US attack, most of the highly enriched uranium was removed from the underground facility in Fordow.

The number of personnel at the Fordow facility was also reportedly reduced to a minimum, which was likely a security measure ahead of the attack.

The Fordow facility is the second most important uranium enrichment center in Iran to be hit by US strikes after Natanz.

These events indicate an escalation of tensions over Iran's nuclear program and the intensification of US actions in the region.

Strikes on Iran

On June 22, 2025, the United States conducted air strikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities - Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. President Donald Trump personally confirmed the operation, calling it a military success and noting that all aircraft had returned safely to their bases.

B-2 strategic bombers were used for the strike. The United States struck three nuclear facilities in Iran with bunker-buster bombs and Tomahawk missiles.

The US President has already called these strikes a historic moment for the United States, Israel, and the world.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Trump's decision a historic step that will change the course of history.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has threatened to continue its activities despite attacks on its facilities by Israel and the United States.
