Intelligence data helps Ukraine prepare as effectively as possible for potential Russian strikes on critical infrastructure and minimize the negative impact of enemy attacks, Deputy Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi said during the Energy that keeps Ukraine running forum.

"I know that you are closely following everything related to the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and other agreements we have with our partners. Today, the number one priority is air defense systems. Everyone understands this — we, our partners, our allies," Skibitskyi said.

According to him, without a robust, multi-layered air defense system that covers different altitudes and ranges, it is impossible to ensure the security of Ukraine's facilities fully.

"Accordingly, we have information and we warn both our Air Force and the heads of critical infrastructure enterprises when a strike is being planned and what forces and means may be involved," explained the Deputy Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

He also emphasized that such measures make it possible, first, to prepare for a potential Russian strike, and second, to maneuver air defense forces and assets to ensure protection and air defense of the most critical facilities.

Ukraine's experience is valuable for Europe

Recently, Russia has been carrying out active operations on the territory of European countries. The EU understands how crucial timely detection, alerting, and the organization of a defense system are. This includes training and preparation.

Ukraine has been building its air defense system for three years. The defense ministers of allied countries understand that creating such a system requires a comprehensive approach, which takes time and expertise.

"Only through joint efforts, including the use of our experience, is it possible to ensure reliable air defense for the most critical facilities," Skibitskyi concluded.

Russian strikes on critical infrastructure

In recent weeks, Russian forces have intensified attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, particularly energy facilities.

However, thanks to the joint work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and energy specialists, the situation in the energy system is gradually stabilizing. At present, there are no emergency power outage schedules across the country. Since yesterday, only power limitation schedules for industrial enterprises have been applied.

Last week, emergency blackout schedules were in effect in Ukraine. Ukrenergo head Vitalii Zaichenko (Ukraine's state energy grid operator) predicted that they would continue until October 23.
