One of Russia’s key political objectives is to limit Ukraine’s ties with a number of countries, according to a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Military intelligence has also obtained new internal Russian political planning documents, including those related to Ukraine’s relations with Moldova, the countries of the South Caucasus, the Middle East, and the Gulf region," he said.

According to the head of state, restricting Ukraine’s security, economic, and other strategic ties with these countries is one of the key political objectives of the aggressor state.

"We believe that Russia is thereby only confirming that both we in Ukraine and our partners are moving in the right direction toward greater security, further strengthening our sovereignty, and the complete neutralization of Russian influence," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President of Ukraine has stressed that achieving a just peace and ensuring security is only possible through increased international political and economic pressure on Russia, as well as continued expansion of support for Ukraine from its allies.

He has also warned against weakening or lifting sanctions against Russia, saying such steps would not encourage dialogue but would instead strengthen the aggressor state’s military potential and its army.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also did not rule out that Russia could resort to a new wave of mobilization to compensate for significant personnel losses in the war against Ukraine.
