President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is preparing additional mobilization to compensate for the heavy losses of its army in the war against Ukraine, according to a Telegram post by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the head of state, Ukraine is receiving increasing amounts of internal information from Russia regarding preparations for new mobilization measures.
"Russia’s political leadership has set the task of increasing the occupation contingent. We are talking about at least tens of thousands more," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The president also noted that Russian authorities have intensified the issuance of so-called mobilization orders, which may indicate a further expansion of mobilization.
"We consider these Russian steps to be confirmation that Moscow is not preparing for real diplomacy," he added.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine will share the available information with international partners.
"Russia must end its war, and the world has leverage. We are working at all levels to protect Ukraine and push Russia toward diplomacy," the head of state concluded.
The Moscow Times previously reported that at the beginning of 2026, Russians increasingly began receiving so-called mobilization orders. These documents contain instructions on actions in the event of a mobilization announcement and are inserted into military service records.
According to the outlet, Russian military recruitment offices are mass-summoning men under the pretext of "data verification," after which they are offered to sign a contract, join the reserve, or receive a mobilization order.
