Inside the ruins: Aftermath of Russian strike on 5-story Kyiv building

Russian forces launched a massive attack on Kyiv on the night of September 28. In the city’s Solomianskyi district, a five-story building was heavily damaged; a 12-year-old girl was killed there.
How the damaged building in Kyiv looks – in RBC-Ukraine’s report below.
As the mayor of the capital, Vitalii Klychko, reported, in total, six districts of the city were affected by the Russian attack. The most damage occurred in the Solomianskyi district.
In the Solomianskyi district, strikes occurred at the Institute of Cardiology, a gas station, and non-residential buildings.
One of the most affected locations is the five-story building on Harmatna Street. There, a direct hit was recorded. From under the rubble of the building, the body of a 12-year-old girl was recovered; three people were rescued; one person was injured.
RBC-Ukraine publishes footage from the site of the strike on the building. As can be seen in the photos and videos, several apartments in the building were completely burned out; almost nothing remains of the residents’ belongings.
The mayor also reported that the floor slabs in the damaged building in the Solomianskyi district partially collapsed. As of 12:00 p.m. Kyiv time, debris is still being cleared there.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, reported that rescuers in Kyiv are working at eight locations.
In total, four people were killed in the capital as a result of Russia’s attack. Among them is the 12-year-old girl, crushed by a concrete slab. At the Institute of Cardiology, a nurse and a patient were killed. Another person was found dead at the site of a strike on civilian infrastructure.
Massive attack on Ukraine
This night, Kyiv, Kyiv region, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, and Odesa regions were under enemy fire. In total, at least 40 people were injured across Ukraine; among the wounded are children.

In total, the Russian militants launched 595 drones and 48 missiles at Ukraine this night.
