The threat of shelling from Russia is a daily reality for Ukrainians. Reports about the suspension of embassy operations in Kyiv due to "security threats" are informational exaggerations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in constant contact with partners regarding potential security threats. We remind that the threat of shelling from the aggressor state is, unfortunately, a daily reality for Ukrainians for more than a thousand days," the MFA adds.

As the ministry notes, on this 1001st day of the full-scale invasion, the threat of Russian shelling is as relevant as it has been in the previous thousand days. In this regard, partners should respond accordingly, without any additional informational exaggerations.

"We ask all Ukrainian citizens to remain vigilant, not to ignore air raid alerts, and to seek shelter in case of danger – as they always do in the event of a Russian missile strike threat," the MFA added.

Risk of mass shelling

Today, November 20, 2024, the US Embassy in Ukraine reported receiving specific information regarding a possible large-scale airstrike on the country. As a result, the embassy has temporarily closed, and safety recommendations have been provided to citizens.

It was later reported that the embassies of Italy, Spain, and Greece in Ukraine temporarily suspended their operations. These diplomatic missions also cite the increased risk of air attacks and advise their citizens to take necessary safety precautions.
