Indian military declassified nuclear weapon data through post about yoga
The Indian Navy inadvertently exposed nuclear weapons modernization plans due to its enthusiasm for yoga. The cause of the leak was an Instagram post, according to a statement from the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) analysts.
For decades, the Indian Navy has integrated yoga into its training practices. In recent years, it has conducted yoga sessions on its warships during port visits as a form of cultural diplomacy.
Photos of these sessions have been shared on Instagram.
For 15 years, the Indian Navy used two ships to launch Dhanush nuclear missiles, known to be equipped with missile stabilizers.
However, recent social media posts by the Indian Navy, showing yoga exercises on these ships, have confirmed analysts' suspicions that the stabilizers have been removed and the vessels can no longer launch Dhanush missiles.
This indicates a gradual transition from the old systems to new ballistic missile submarines, such as the INS Arighat, which are expected to be commissioned by the end of 2024.
Modi's visit to Ukraine
We previously reported that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Poland and Ukraine from August 21 to 23.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Modi earlier this year and invited him to visit Ukraine. Should the Prime Minister proceed with the visit, it will be his first since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
In early July, Modi visited Russia, where he met with the dictator Vladimir Putin.
The day of Modi's meeting with the Russian leader coincided with the Russian military's shelling of the Okhmatdyt children's hospital.
At that time, Zelenskyy described the Prime Minister's visit to the terrorist state as a devastating blow to peaceful efforts. In response, India summoned the Ukrainian ambassador.
