Russia has almost completely eliminated American components from its weaponry. For the first time, an Indian-made component was discovered, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reports.

In particular, Intelligence uncovered nearly 200 new parts and components used in six types of Russian weapons. These include the CRP antenna of the Russian Shahed drone, the North Korean ballistic missile KN-24, the computer from the Kh-47 Kinzhal missile, and the drones Supercam S350, Gerbera, and Zala.

According to the Ukrainian military, the new CRP antennas for the Geran-2 drone contained only two American-made chips. This indicates Russia's attempt to reduce dependence on components from countries that have imposed sanctions on it.

Previously, new jamming-resistant antennas with Chinese-language markings had been discovered in Russian Shaheds. In one of these antennas, which contained 15 components, only two were from American companies Texas Instruments and Linear Technologies.

The rest of the transceivers, generators, signal converters, and other microchips were of Chinese origin. The main chip of the CRP antenna, which analyzes incoming signals and determines which to ignore, was made by the Beijing Microelectronics Technology Institute.

"For the first time, a component of Indian origin - a timing buffer from Aura Semiconductor - was found in Russian weaponry," Ukraine's Defense Intelligence states.

At the same time, the manufacturers of two other components have not yet been identified, but they are likely also of Chinese origin.

Russia increases Shahed production

A Russian plant producing Shahed drones in the special economic zone of Alabuga (Tatarstan) doubled its output of UAVs from January to September 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. The reports also indicated the serial numbers on the bodies of downed Shahed drones reached 12,000.

As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned, drones used by Russia in its attacks on Ukraine on January 5 of this year contained 8,755 foreign-made components.

At the same time, analysts from the Institute for the Study of War believe that Russia's production rates of Shahed strike drones may decrease, as the country could shift to using decoy drones to bypass and overload Ukraine's air defense systems.
