In Romania, one checkpoint on border with Ukraine is blocked again
Romanian farmers have once again blocked the Siret border crossing point with Ukraine today, January 14, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on Telegram.
Around 14:00, representatives of the Romanian border police announced the resumption of blockades by Romanian farmers and agrarians, disrupting the movement of cargo towards the Siret border crossing point.
The Romanian checkpoint is located opposite the Ukrainian crossing point Porubne, situated in the Chernivtsi region.
"All types of vehicles and pedestrians leaving Ukraine are processed in accordance with established procedures," border guards state.
It is worth noting that on January 13, Romanian farmers also blocked the movement of trucks through the Siret crossing point. Similar blockades in Romania yesterday lasted for 6 hours.
Border blockade in Ukraine
Recalling that on November 6, 2023, Polish carriers initiated strikes at the border with Ukraine. Polish protesters are demanding the reinstatement of the pass system for Ukrainian carriers.
In late December, Ukrainian and Polish officials agreed on an action plan to unblock the border crossings. Starting from December 4, a border crossing point for empty trucks leaving Ukraine was operational.
Recently, on January 6, Polish agrarians ceased the blockade at the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint, and the movement of trucks was restored.
