IMF increases Ukraine's funding by nearly $880 million for 2025
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) increased the amount of credit funds allocated to Ukraine in 2025 by nearly $880 million, according to the IMF memorandum.
According to the document, the IMF had previously planned to allocate $1.835 billion to Ukraine in 2025 in two tranches of $917.5 million (based on the current USD to SDR exchange rate) in March and August.
The plan now allocates $2.712 billion in four tranches: $917.5 million in March, $809.6 million in June, $539.8 million in August, and $445.3 million in December.

The increase in financing for 2025 will come from credit funds that were initially intended for disbursement in 2026 and 2027.
Previously, tranches of $1.3 billion had been planned for March and August 2026 and March 2027. Their amounts have now been reduced to $941.3 million, $1.007 billion, and $1.069 billion, respectively.
Earlier today, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the IMF Executive Board approved the fifth review of the EFF program. According to him, this will allow Ukraine to receive a new tranche of over $1 billion soon.
He specified that the new tranche, amounting to approximately $1.1 billion, will be used to cover essential non-military budget expenditures.
