'I thought he was somebody that meant what he said': Trump slams Putin over overnight attacks on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump stated that the United States will indeed send Patriot systems and other modern weaponry to Ukraine.
Reporters asked Trump whether he plans to announce sanctions against Russia. However, the U.S. president avoided a direct answer, saying that it is necessary to see what happens next.
"I am very disappointed with Putin. I thought he was somebody that meant what he said. And he'll talk so beautifully and then he'll bomb people at night. We don't like that," Trump said.
Trump’s stance on Putin and Russia
In an audio recording recently released by CNN, Donald Trump allegedly describes how he tried to deter Vladimir Putin from attacking Ukraine by threatening to "bomb Moscow to hell."
The recording was likely made during charity events in 2024 in New York and Florida, when Trump was once again running for president. More details about the recording and Trump’s remarks can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with Russia’s attack on Ukraine, which involved more than 700 drones. He stated that up to seven thousand people are dying each week on both sides. He later added that he was disappointed in Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and warned him of a surprise.
Moreover, Trump announced he would soon make an important statement regarding the war launched by Russia against Ukraine.
"I’m disappointed in Russia, but we’ll see what happens over the next couple of weeks. I think I’ll have a major statement to make on Russia on Monday," he said.
