Trump reacts to Russia’s record-breaking strike on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump is unhappy with Russia's nighttime attack on Ukraine, which involved more than 700 drones, the American leader said during a conversation with journalists.
Trump was asked to comment on Russia's strike on Ukraine on the night of July 9.
"Many people know, I'm not happy about what's going on. This is a war that should have never happened. 7,000 a week on both sides. 7,000 people. Young, mostly military people. Young souls are dead and dying. And it should be stopped. Very sad to see what's happening," Trump said.
Record-breaking strike
On the night of July 9, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, firing 728 drones and 13 missiles. It was a new record.
Notably, the enemy used six Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, launched from MiG-31K fighter jets.
Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy 718 targets. A total of 296 drones and seven Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles were shot down. Another 415 drones disappeared from radar.
One of the main targets of the attack was the city of Lutsk. In the Volyn region, 50 drones and five missiles were recorded.
