U.S. President Joe Biden was not surprised by the information about the possible death of the leader of the Wagner Private Military Company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, as a result of an airplane crash, according to Biden's statement, cited by CNN.

US President Joe Biden speculated that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin could have been behind the plane crash in the Tver region.

"You may recall, I was asked about this," Biden said, referring to comments he made in July.

Back then, he mentioned that Prigozhin should be concerned about his safety after the failed coup attempt.

"I said I would be careful what I rode in. I don’t know for a fact what happened, but I’m not surprised,"," Biden added.

Plane crash in the Tver region

As a reminder, videos of a plane crash in the Tver region of Russia began circulating on social media today. It was later determined that the aircraft was an Embraer Legacy 600 business jet with ten people on board. All of them perished.

Telegram channels were disseminating information that the plane belonged to the founder of the Wagner Private Military Company, Yevgeny Prigozhin. He was reportedly considered a passenger. Later, it was reported that Prigozhin died in the plane crash.
