Hungary vote update: Magyar leads confidently in early results

The first results of the parliamentary elections in Hungary have been announced after polling stations closed. With half of the votes counted, the opposition Tisza party of Péter Magyar is in the lead, according to Hungary's National Election Office.
Election results as of 10:25 PM
Hungary's National Election Office has counted 53.45% of the votes. In addition to a constitutional majority, Magyar's party is preliminarily securing one more seat in parliament. At this stage, the results are as follows:
- 68.34% voted for the Tisza party, which preliminarily translates into 136 parliamentary seats (out of a total of 199)
- 28.14% voted for Fidesz, equal to 56 seats.

The National Election Office has counted 45.71% of the votes. At this point, one of the parties is already projected to secure a constitutional majority:
- 67.84% voted for the Tisza party, which translates into 135 parliamentary seats (out of a total of 199)
- 28.64% voted for Fidesz, equal to 57 seats.

Meanwhile, Péter Magyar announced on social media that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán called to congratulate him on his victory.

As of 9:50 PM EEST, Hungary counted 29.21% of the votes. A clear early trend is now visible regarding which party is in the lead. At this stage, the results are as follows:
- 66.33% voted for Péter Magyar's Tisza party, which equals 132 parliamentary seats out of 199 (just one seat short of a constitutional majority)
- 29.65% voted for Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's Fidesz party, equal to 59 seats.

Elections in Hungary
On Sunday, April 12, Hungary held parliamentary elections.
Polling stations closed at 7:00 PM, and today's election saw a historic turnout. As of 6:30 PM, 77.80% of Hungarians had voted, nearly 6 million people.
In the final days before the election, the 21 Research Center conducted a poll that indicated, preliminarily, that Orbán's party would lose.
According to the survey, Tisza party could receive 55% of the vote, which would translate into 132 parliamentary seats. Meanwhile, Fidesz was projected to receive 38%, equal to 61 seats.
