Hungary to shoot down Russian drones violating airspace amid war in Ukraine – Orbán

Hungary plans to destroy Russian drones if they enter the country's airspace, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in an interview with Harcosok Órája.
Orbán commented on a question about whether Hungary would defend its airspace if it were violated by Russian drones, either deliberately or accidentally.
"As far as I know, yes. We are not afraid of this. We will, of course, shoot them down," the prime minister replied.
The head of the Hungarian government also believes that the position of Western Europeans regarding the violation of the airspace of several countries by Russian drones and aircraft is allegedly wrong.
"We (Europe) are stronger in all dimensions. I have never understood why, when we are stronger, we speak as if we were weak. Russia is weak compared to us — weak militarily, economically weak, and weak in numbers," he added.
Drone attack on Poland
A few weeks ago, at night, Russian strike drones entered Polish airspace. To intercept the drones, NATO allies scrambled their fighter jets.
As a result of the air defense operation, only four out of nineteen drones were destroyed. The rest probably fell on Polish territory as they ran out of fuel.
Against this backdrop, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski warned Russia that Moscow should not complain if NATO countries start shooting down its drones and aircraft that violate foreign airspace.
