Ukraine's chief "postman" posted a photo of the damaged building. He stated that it will be repaired quickly, according to a Telegram message from Ihor Smilianskyi.

The published photos show that the facade of the main post office on Maidan was damaged. The glass in the doors was blown out. Windows on some floors of the building were also shattered.

However, the director of Ukrposhta (Ukraine’s national postal service) promised to repair everything quickly.

He said that the building was already planned to be renovated.

"We had long planned to do some repairs on it — so this will be an opportunity to quickly restore it, just like all our other branches after nights like this," Smilianskyi wrote.

Key details of the attack on Kyiv on May 24

The capital experienced one of the most powerful attacks this night. The attack was combined: drones and ballistic missiles. Many people were injured, and one person was killed. Debris fell in all districts of the capital, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Russia also struck two schools in the Shevchenkivskyi district. In one, the entrance to a shelter where people were staying was blocked; in the other, a fire broke out.

The Kyiv region, which was the first to encounter the Russian drones and missiles, also suffered significant damage overnight. All districts saw destruction and casualties. Rescue workers had to battle fires, and medics provided first aid.
