Russia strikes Kyiv school as shelter entrance is buried with people inside

During a massive nighttime strike on Kyiv, Russia hit two schools in the Shevchenkivskyi district. In one, the entrance to a shelter with people inside was blocked; in the other, a fire broke out, states Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Shelter entrance blocked
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported a strike near one of the schools in the Shevchenkivskyi district. At the time of the strike, people were inside the school shelter.
"The entrance to the shelter was blocked," he wrote.
Rescuers have already rushed to the scene. The number of people inside and their condition are currently being clarified.
Soon after, Klitschko reported another strike — again on a school in the same district. A fire broke out on the second floor there.
Details of this strike are also being determined.
In total, as a result of the night attack, ten people were injured in the capital.
On the night of May 24, Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv with ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones. Debris fell in several districts — Podilskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Obolonskyi, and others.
Even before the attack, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on partners not only to warn Kyiv about the threat but also to send Moscow a clear signal regarding the consequences of the attack.
