High-speed train collision in Slovakia: Ukrainian among injured

In Slovakia, nearly 70 people were injured in a high-speed train collision, including a young Ukrainian, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ukrainian victim was born in 2005. He is receiving the necessary medical care at a local hospital. The Ukrainian embassy is in contact with the boy’s mother.
The ministry clarified that as of 6:00 p.m., 69 people were reported injured, including seven in serious condition. Another 14 sustained moderate injuries, and 48 suffered minor injuries. There are no fatalities.
Tragedy in Slovakia
Today, October 13, near the Slovak village of Jablonov nad Turňou, two high-speed trains collided. Ambulances and rescue helicopters were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Local media reported that around 100 people sustained minor injuries, and several others were in critical condition.
The most seriously injured, according to media reports, were taken to hospitals.
Slovak Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok suggested that human error may have caused the accident. According to him, one of the train drivers may have failed to give way to the other.
