Additionally, after the sirens that sounded between 23:27 and 23:28 in the Upper Galilee area, about 15 shells were detected flying from Lebanon into Israel. Some of these were intercepted, and the others also landed in open areas.
The IDF also intercepted a suspicious airborne target that crossed the Lebanon-Israel border near the coastal city of Nahariya.
Israel-Hezbollah war
Since October 2023, when Hamas terrorists launched a large-scale attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip, a regional conflict has escalated between the Israeli army and the Iran-backed Hezbollah group. The IDF and Hezbollah militants have been regularly exchanging artillery fire across their respective territories.
Following the Israeli army's elimination of several Hezbollah leaders, the attacks intensified. Since October 1, the Israeli army has been conducting a military operation in Lebanon aimed at pushing the terrorists further away from the border.
In response, Hezbollah terrorists have been attacking Israel daily with hundreds of shells and rockets.
The US has agreed to provide Israel with missile defense systems.
