Olha Kharlan is a Ukrainian fencer and Olympic champion who impresses with her slender appearance. She pays special attention to her diet, which is integral to her athletic routine.
Diet principles
Olha prefers to cook meals at home, allowing her to control the quality and composition of the food.
According to her, her beloved Luigi Samele, an Italian sabre fencer and four-time Olympic medalist, often cooks at home.
"He cooks very delicious Italian dishes. I sometimes prepare Ukrainian dishes. He likes Ukrainian cuisine," said the star.
Due to frequent training sessions, they usually eat at home. The couple consumes proteins, carbohydrates, and fats throughout the week, which help maintain energy and muscle mass.
"I'm not an expert, so I can't advise. I only recommend engaging in sports and controlling your diet. That is, not eating too many sweets. If you crave something, you can have a little once a week. Then it will be easier morally, but don't overeat," explained Kharlan.

What she eats for breakfast and lunch
In the morning, she usually eats soy yogurt with nuts and berries. She always drinks coffee with soy milk.
After training, she eats fish or meat for lunch to get protein. Her carbohydrates come from either buckwheat or another grain, and a salad.
The fencer said she eats a banana and soy yogurt in the morning on competition days.
She even shared a recipe for preparing spaghetti with a delicious sauce that is very quick and easy to make.

Does she limit fast food?
The star tries to avoid fast food and limits her consumption of sweets. Occasionally, she might allow herself a piece of cheesecake after successful competitions.
Her diet often includes seasonal vegetables, such as asparagus, a fiber and vitamin source.
While traveling, she tries to stick to her usual diet, choosing dishes similar to those she consumes at home in Ukraine.
"I can eat pizza, but not every day. I don't eat pasta often, and I allow myself only a little," she added.
