Harris's team states that Trump insults American Jews
The campaign team of US Vice President Kamala Harris has accused Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump of consistently belittling American Jews in light of his attacks on Israel, reports The Times of Israel.
Press Secretary Charles Lutvak noted that Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz (the Democratic vice-presidential candidate) have consistently opposed anti-Semitism in any form throughout their careers.
"Vice President Harris and Governor Walz have decisively called out antisemitism in any form their entire careers, and our campaign will always be clear: Antisemitism and hate have no place in the Democratic Party or in our country," Lutvak said in an email responding to questions about the verbal sparring between leading Jewish Democratic and Republican groups.
Lutvak pointed out that there is a candidate in the race who continually belittles American Jews, describing this individual as Donald Trump.
"There is one candidate in this race who consistently denigrates American Jews, elevates Neo-Nazis, and traffics in antisemitic tropes, and it is Donald Trump," he said.
Lutvak emphasized that Harris’s campaign is uniting voters who reject Trump's hateful rhetoric and will defeat him in the November election.
The accusations from Harris's campaign followed days of increasingly harsh exchanges between European party affiliates, the Jewish Democratic Council of America, and the Republican Jewish Coalition.
This came a few weeks after Trump claimed that Harris does not like Jews and after he repeatedly suggested that Jewish Democrats need to check their heads.
Additionally, the first debate between Trump and Harris is scheduled to take place on September 10 on ABC News.
