Harris accepts CNN debate invitation and challenges Trump
US Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris has accepted an invitation to a debate organized by CNN on October 23. She also called on her opponent, Donald Trump, to participate, according to CNN.
Jen O’Malley Dillon, Harris' campaign chair said that the Democratic candidate is ready for another opportunity to share the stage with Trump.
"Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate," she said.
CNN proposed a format in which the candidates would answer questions from moderators for 90 minutes without a live audience in the studio. The channel said in a statement that Trump and Harris had received an invitation.
How the September 10 debate went
The first debate featuring Harris and Trump covered a wide range of domestic policy issues. However, foreign policy, including Ukraine, was also addressed.
Notably, Trump avoided answering whether he wanted Ukraine to win the Russia-Ukraine war, stating instead that he wanted the war to end. He also declined to reveal his so-called peace plan. Harris, on the other hand, accused him of cozying up to dictators. According to her, Vladimir Putin would eat Trump for lunch.

According to polls, after the debate, Harris has the same lead over Trump as before the debate – within the statistical margin of error. 46% are ready to vote for her, while 45% support her opponent. A Morning Consult poll showed a slight decline in the Republican candidate's ratings.
Amid this, Trump announced that he would no longer participate in debates with Harris.
