Ukraine calls urgent UN Security Council meeting after Russian attack on Kyiv

Ukraine has appealed to the UN to urgently convene a Security Council meeting after Russia’s recent strike on Kyiv, stated Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
According to him, an urgent UN Security Council meeting will take place on August 1. The agenda includes the issue of the Maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine.
Sybiha stated that the Russian President Vladimir Putin rejects peaceful efforts and wants to continue the war. He emphasized that the international community has the power to stop him through united pressure and a principled position on a full, immediate, and unconditional ceasefire.
"The UNSC meeting tomorrow evening will be a platform to make such firm positions clear," Sybiha added.
