Fifteen people were killed in a Russian overnight strike on Kyiv. Among the dead are two children, according to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

"Information has come in confirming 15 fatalities. Unfortunately, the worst fears about the number of people who might be trapped under the rubble are being confirmed," Tkachenko said.

He added that, according to updated information, two children were killed in the strike.

"Today, the Russians once again added to their grim record of killing children. The world’s first child-murdering army," he stated.

Rescue operations at the site of the tragedy are still ongoing.

Tkachenko clarified that the death toll has risen to 16. In addition, 159 people have been injured.

Attack on Kyiv

As reported earlier, on the night of July 31, Russian forces launched a massive strike on Ukraine, using 309 attack drones and nine Iskander-K cruise missiles.

One of the main targets of the attack was Kyiv. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, an entire section of a residential building was destroyed.

According to earlier reports, 14 people were confirmed dead, including a six-year-old boy.
