German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany plans to provide Ukraine with a military aid package worth €650 million ($683 million), with the defensive equipment set to arrive by the end of this year.

"Germany will remain Ukraine's strongest supporter in Europe. During my meeting with Zelenskyy (Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy), I will announce additional defensive equipment worth €650 million, which will be delivered by the end of December," Scholz stated.

Germany’s support for Ukraine

Germany has been one of Ukraine’s key partners, offering military, humanitarian, and financial aid during the full-scale war. Since the start of Russian aggression, Berlin has provided Ukraine with advanced weaponry, including PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers, IRIS-T air defense systems, Leopard 2 tanks, Marder infantry fighting vehicles, and other military equipment.

In addition to military assistance, Germany has allocated significant resources to humanitarian projects, infrastructure reconstruction, and support for Ukrainian refugees, committing billions of euros to these efforts.

Recently, Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Oleksii Makeiev urged Berlin not to impose "red lines" on its support for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Germany announced plans to deliver two additional IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine by the end of the year.
