According to them, the political subgroup has finished its work, but the military subgroup is still continuing negotiations.

"Tomorrow — continuation," the source told the outlet.

Meeting in Geneva

The third round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, mediated by the United States, is taking place in Geneva on February 17–18.

The start of the meeting was announced at 02:55 PM Kyiv time by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, who is directly participating in the dialogue.

He also shared related photographs, noting that the Ukrainian delegation is working constructively, focused, and "without unnecessary expectations."

Details of what the parties discussed have not yet been released.

The main outcome of the previous two rounds of negotiations was a prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia, which took place for the first time in five months. A total of 157 Ukrainian defenders returned home from Russian captivity.

The main sticking point in the negotiations remains the issue of territory. Russia is making tough demands — it wants full control over the Donetsk region.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has no intention of ceding its territory to Russia and insists on a ceasefire along the line of contact.
