General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces confirms strikes on four military airfields in Russia
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has officially confirmed that on the night of August 14, Ukraine attacked four military airfields in the Voronezh, Kursk, and Nizhny Novgorod regions of Russia, according to the General Staff.
The attack was carried out by units of the Air Force and Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
The airfields of Khalino, Savasleyka, Borisoglebsk and Baltimore in the Voronezh, Kursk and Nizhny Novgorod regions of Russia were attacked.
Army aviation, Su-34 fighter-bombers, Su-35 fighters and other enemy military aircraft are based at these airfields.
The main targets were fuel and lubricants and aviation weaponry depots.
The results of the attack are being clarified.
On the night of August 14, Russia was massively attacked by strike drones. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that 117 drones were destroyed by Russian air defense. However, a satellite captured damage to at least four hangars at the Borisoglebsk airfield. Russian bloggers wrote about the damage to a MiG-31K supersonic fighter jet at the Savasleyka airfield.
