The US is currently not preparing any new military operations against Iran following the strikes on key sites of Iran's nuclear program, CBS News reports, citing US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had threatened Iran with further strikes if Tehran refused to choose the path of peace and agree to a new nuclear deal.

"At this time, no military operations against Iran are being planned," Rubio said.

According to the US Secretary of State, it will take several more days before anyone, including the American military, knows whether Iran had moved part of its nuclear materials before the strikes.

On the night of June 22, American forces using B-2 bombers and Tomahawk missiles attacked three key Iranian nuclear sites. According to the Pentagon, the US operation resulted in the destruction of Iran's nuclear program.

At the same time, the US is ready to begin negotiations on a new nuclear deal with Iran immediately - if Tehran requests it, Rubio said following the strikes.
