France will not send ground troops to Ukraine to participate in war – Macron

France will not send ground troops to Ukraine for combat against Russia. However, Paris may help rearm and equip Ukrainians, as well as deploy experts or even a limited number of military personnel beyond the front lines, states French President Emmanuel Macron, according to Le Monde.
When asked about sending troops to Ukraine, Macron responded: "France is not preparing to send combat ground troops to the front."
Instead, he proposes rearming and equipping Ukrainians.
"Then, sending experts or even a limited number of troops beyond any conflict zone to support Ukrainians and demonstrate solidarity. This is something we are considering with the British. And thirdly, NATO membership," the French president stated.
Peacekeeping troops in Ukraine
Recently, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he is "ready and willing" to deploy British troops to Ukraine to enforce a peace agreement if necessary.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine has made significant progress in establishing a contingent of foreign military personnel on its territory. This could be the first step toward creating a united European armed force.
The Washington Post reported that European countries might send between 25,000 and 30,000 soldiers as part of a peacekeeping mission. This potential troop deployment was disclosed in responses to a US letter asking European nations to detail their capabilities for supporting Kyiv.
