France extends Durov's detention for another 48 hours
A Paris court has extended the detention of Telegram founder Pavel Durov for another 48 hours, according to France24.
According to the Paris Prosecutor's Office, the detention order for Pavel Durov was extended by 48 hours on Monday evening.
Once the extended period expires, Durov must either be released or charged.
Durov's detention
On August 24, French law enforcement detained Telegram founder Pavel Durov at an airport near Paris.
The arrest warrant was issued as part of a preliminary investigation, the details of which officials have not disclosed.
Durov may face charges due to the lack of moderation on his messaging platform. Telegram's administration does not cooperate with the authorities in investigating crimes.
Later, it was revealed that Durov was accused of refusing to cooperate in the investigation of several crimes.
