Voting in the tiny New Hampshire town of Dixville Notch has ended in the presidential election. Candidates for the White House, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, each received three votes, CNN reports.

Four Republicans and two independent voters participated in the voting.

It is noted that the town closed the polling station immediately after midnight, in accordance with a tradition that dates back to 1960.

According to the 2010 census, the town had a population of just 12 people. During election, this location traditionally draws the interest of journalists, as its residents are the first to publish their voting results.

In the last two presidential election, the residents of Dixville Notch cast their votes in support of the Democratic Party candidate. In 2020, all five voters in the town unanimously voted for Joe Biden, while in 2016, four out of seven votes went to Hillary Clinton. The remaining votes were split between Donald Trump, who received two votes, and Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, who received one vote.

Election in the USA

On Tuesday, November 5, the United States is holding another presidential election. The main candidates in the race for the position are Kamala Harris from the Democratic Party and Donald Trump representing the Republican Party.

According to the latest polls, the ratings of both candidates are nearly equal. Key to determining the winner will be seven so-called "swing states" — regions where voters often change their support between candidates from different parties.
