First KAB bomb strike on Ukraine's Dnipro? Air Force comments on

This afternoon, June 28, explosions were heard in Dnipro. Monitoring channels reported the alleged downing of a Russian guided bomb (KAB). Ukraine’s Air Force has provided details about the enemy target.
"We are providing information regarding the reports of a KAB attack on Dnipro. At approximately 11:30 a.m., an aerial target was detected, launched from the airspace of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region by a Russian tactical aircraft," the Air Force stated.
According to the military, the target flew over 100 kilometers and was shot down by air defense systems outside the city of Dnipro. The type of aerial target will be determined after analyzing debris at the crash site.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, noted that the explosion in the Dnipro suburbs was caused by air defense activity.
"Thanks to our air defenders for intercepting the latest guided bomb-missile Grom-1," Lysak said.
What happened earlier
Explosions were heard in Dnipro this afternoon, June 28. Shortly before that, an air raid alert had been issued in the city and the region.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that a KAB had flown past Zaporizhzhia toward the Dnipropetrovsk region.
What is a KAB?
A guided aerial bomb (or precision-guided munition) is designed to strike targets with high accuracy without requiring the aircraft to enter areas covered by enemy air defense systems. Essentially, it’s a conventional aerial bomb fitted with guidance systems that enhance its accuracy and increase its range.
The Russian forces use FAB-250 and FAB-500 bombs equipped with UMPK, Universal Gliding and Correction Modules, that can be launched from Su-34 aircraft.
These bombs can travel tens of kilometers (up to 90 km), but their accuracy remains questionable, unlike their Western counterparts, such as the American JDAM-ER or the French AASM Hammer, used by Ukraine.
Their relatively low cost and powerful payload have made KABs a weapon of terror. Russian forces frequently use them to strike Ukrainian cities and towns, causing heavy civilian casualties.
