A fire broke out in Cherepovets, Russia, in the Vologda region — following a drone attack, the Apatit plant, which mainly produces phosphate fertilizers, caught fire, Russian media report.

"Cherepovets. Locals report that Joint Stock Company Apatit (Cherepovets chemical cluster of the PhosAgro group) was attacked," the caption under the emergency video says.

Joint Stock Company Apatit is the largest producer of phosphorus-containing fertilizers, phosphoric and sulfuric acids in Europe, as well as one of the leaders in Russia in terms of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizer production.

"Cherepovets, so you understand the situation, there should be no fire there, but everything is burning. Residents are running somewhere," the caption under the footage from Cherepovets says.

Public channels report that there was also a fire in Vyborg overnight in the area of the Vysotsk port.

Earlier, in Russia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Kirishi oil refinery in the Leningrad region.
