Fire breaks out in residential complex in Moscow
A significant fire broke out in the residential complex Seliger City in Moscow on the night of September 30. The fire incident was accompanied by a series of explosions, reportedly caused by gas cylinders, according to EMERCOM of Russia and Russian media.
The fire occurred in the Degunino district of Moscow on Ilmensky Passage. Flames engulfed floors five through eight of the building.
Russian media reported that residents of the burning complex attempted to escape the flames by climbing onto the cornice. Additionally, one person jumped from a window to escape the fire and was later hospitalized.
According to the Telegram channel Mash, after the series of explosions, the building's structures began to collapse in the Seliger City complex. It was also reported that windows shattered for dozens of meters due to the explosions.
Local emergency services are conducting evacuations from the burning building, and seven people have been rescued from the fire.
Residents of the building informed media representatives that they saw charred parts of gas cylinders beneath the windows of the high-rise.
It was also noted that the open flames in the residential complex have already been extinguished.
It was previously reported that about a week ago, a fire broke out at a warehouse near Moscow, covering an area of 5,000 square meters.
On September 13, a fire erupted at a coke and gas plant in the Moscow region, prompting the evacuation of the facility's workers.
Additionally, it is worth noting that at the end of August, a fire occurred in a two-story administrative building in Moscow, necessitating the deployment of four helicopters and a ship to combat the intense blaze.
