As a result of the Russian missile strike on the Cabinet of Ministers building of Ukraine on September 7, about 800–900 square meters were damaged. Emergency work will continue for about another day, Head of the State Emergency Service Andriy Danyk said during a national telethon.

According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine building has many wooden structures. Because of this, the fire that broke out as a result of the strike spread very quickly.

There was a threat that the fire could completely engulf the entire roof. Firefighting aviation was involved in eliminating the consequences of the attack.

"Rescuers are currently working to dismantle unstable structures, remove damaged elements, and stabilize the constructions that will continue to be used," Danyk said.

He noted that as a result of the attack, about 800–900 square meters were damaged. A more detailed figure of the damage will be known later.

According to the head of the State Emergency Service, the area may increase due to the fact that the fire could have spread through wooden voids in the ceilings, the dismantling of which is ongoing.
