Finland to allocate 16 million euros for humanitarian aid to Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland has decided to provide 36.5 million euros in humanitarian aid. 16 million euros will be allocated for Ukraine, according to the Finnish Foreign Ministry.
As the Ministry reports, the funds will be channelled through the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
It is worth noting that Finland has been actively supporting Ukraine's humanitarian needs since the beginning of the Russian aggression.
“Finland has supported Ukraine’s humanitarian needs since the first day of Russia’s war of aggression and will continue to do so also in the future. The need for humanitarian aid in Ukraine is enormous, and our assistance is important,” said Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio.
This aid is provided to support those affected by the war, particularly in frontline areas where the situation is especially difficult.
In addition to Ukraine, Finland also provides assistance to address humanitarian crises in Africa and the Middle East, including Sudan, Gaza, Syria, and other regions.
Finland's assistance to Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Finland has been actively supporting Ukraine in the humanitarian, financial, and military-technical spheres. Last spring, Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Alexander Stubb signed a bilateral security agreement. This agreement provides for long-term support from Finland and deepens cooperation between the two countries.
In December, Finland allocated the 26th aid package to Ukraine worth 25 million euros. It will include winter gear for the Ukrainian military.
