After Ukrainian drones fell on Finnish territory, the country's authorities will not demand that Ukraine stop or reduce attacks on Russia's oil sector, Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen said, Yle reports.

"Finland does not demand anything like that. But, of course, we must ensure that Finns are not put at risk," the minister said.

She emphasized that "Ukraine has the right to defend itself."

"We are not making any demands of Ukraine regarding which targets it seeks to strike in Russia," Valtonen added.

Drones in Finland and Zelenskyy's statement

On March 29, several drones violated Finland's airspace and fell in the southeast of the country.

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo confirmed that the drones that entered the country's territory were Ukrainian. According to him, the UAVs fell near the city of Kouvola, close to the border with Russia.

Authorities noted that there were no casualties. The drones were not shot down — they fell on their own.

Ukraine responded to the incident.

The Foreign Ministry stated that "no Ukrainian drones were directed toward Finland under any circumstances." The drones likely fell due to the operation of Russian electronic warfare systems.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he discussed the situation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, but did not disclose details.

Zelenskyy also said yesterday in comments to journalists that Ukraine had received signals from some allies about reducing attacks on Russia's oil sector.
