UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he is "fed up" with the influence of the US and Russian presidents on energy prices in Britain, The Guardian reports.
In particular, Starmer emphasized that energy bills in Britain "go up and down" due to international crises caused by the actions of US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I'm fed up with the fact that families across the country see their bills go up and down on energy, businesses' bills go up and down on energy because of the actions of Putin or Trump across the world," he stressed.
In addition, the British prime minister emphasized that he wants Britain to be "a country where people are not at the mercy of events abroad."
Plan to restore maritime logistics
Starmer emphasized the need to stabilize the situation in the Middle East and restore safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to him, Britain, together with allies, is working on a "practical plan" to restore maritime logistics as soon as possible after a ceasefire is reached.
At the same time, the British prime minister criticized strikes in the region, stressing that they "should stop," even despite uncertainty over the details of ceasefire agreements.
Relations between Trump and Starmer
The Telegraph wrote that Trump, in private conversations, began calling Keir Starmer a "loser" with no future. This happened amid disagreements over the conflict in the Middle East.
In addition, Keir Starmer was warned that his relations with US President Donald Trump are likely already impossible to restore.
Disagreements over the war with Iran led to discussions in the United States about a possible withdrawal from NATO. In response, Starmer promised not to allow Britain to be drawn into the war.
