Ukraine would have won the war faster if it had been granted permission to strike Russian territory with British and other Western weapons, states Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy.

Responding to the question whether he believes Ukraine could win the war faster with such permission, the commander replied, "Of course, the sooner the armed forces have the necessary battle capabilities and certain capabilities to destroy the enemy's infrastructure facilities, the sooner we will win."

According to Neizhpapa, if Ukraine had more options in terms of weaponry, the course of the war would unfold differently.

"If Ukraine had certain types of long-range weapons which can be used deeper at the enemy territory, of course, the enemy would have behaved differently, including on the battlefield," added the vice admiral.

The Commander of the Navy also emphasized that the enemy, aware of the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, accordingly "reacts to our actions."

"Putin behaves like a small-scale gangster who knows that if he is matched blow for blow, he will not start a fight... If he understands that Ukraine can fight back and make him really feel pain, of course, he will give all this up," Neizhpapa stated.

Russia captures the sea

It is worth noting that Russia utilizes the Black and Azov Seas for its military objectives. Currently, the Azov Sea is entirely under the control of the Russian Federation.

Russia's dominance in the Black Sea has somewhat diminished following the liberation of Snake Island. After Moscow's withdrawal from the "grain deal," civilian navigation once again faced threats. However, Ukraine manages to break through the Russian blockade of the Black Sea. Civilian vessels carrying Ukrainian grain have started leaving ports in the Odessa region.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would receive military ships to protect vessels traveling through the "grain corridor."

The Commander of the Navy stated that ships under the flag of the Russian Navy would be legitimate targets for Ukraine, even if they are anywhere in the world's oceans.
