'Eyes like universe of fear': Cat discovered under debris of building destroyed by missile in Kyiv

They say cats have a remarkable reserve of life and resilience, and this was proven by a cat found under the rubble of a building destroyed by a Russian missile in Kyiv on June 17. The animal was spotted by employees of DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks.
RBC-Ukraine reports on what is known about the cat, its condition, and who is currently taking care of it.
According to DTEK (the largest private energy company in Ukraine) employees, they were very surprised that the cat was still alive.
"Thursday. Kyiv is still breathing dust after the attack. We are working among the debris: cables, concrete, dust… And suddenly — a barely noticeable movement in the corner. Alive. A kitty. Burnt fur, trembling all over, eyes like a universe of fear. It spent several days under the rubble. In the dark. Amid explosions. Alone. We tried to reach it — carefully, step by step. But it broke free. Ran. Far, as fast as it could. Stress, instinct, life," DTEK shared.
They asked Ukrainians to help the cat if anyone sees her on the street and to contact animal volunteers or DTEK.
"We couldn’t hold it, but this is not the end. It is alive, which means not all is lost. If you see it near the site of the impact — burnt, scared — please let us know. Reach out to animal protectors or veterinarians. Or write to us — we will not give up. Because sometimes one small life is all it takes to believe in the power of good again," DTEK added.

In the comments to the post, activist Alina Bodnar reported that the cat has already been found and taken to a hospital for treatment. The cat was found by people who were helping the victims at the site of the tragedy and immediately brought the animal to the veterinarians.
The cat’s fate is now being cared for by Anna Herez, who provided updates on its condition and the medical conclusions.
The cat has intoxication due to first- and second-degree burns, a tail injury with traumatic amputation, risk of burn shock, bladder paresis, toxic hepatitis, and possible kidney failure — which is still uncertain.
"The kitty is incredibly strong, tried to bite (no claws), even under sedation. The next few days are crucial," the woman noted.
The cat survived its first night in the hospital, and according to the veterinarians, its temperature rose to normal.
"They fed her with a syringe because she doesn’t want to eat on her own (most likely due to the entire nose being burnt), but she didn’t spit it out and swallowed well. Very scared, afraid of hands," the veterinary clinic shared.

Today, Unbreakable Kitty visited the hospital and even let the visitors pet her.
During the Russian missile attack, Goldie, the beloved pet, died of fear in the shelter.
