Explosions rocked Cherkasy during a combined Russian attack overnight on July 24, according to Suspilne, Ukraine’s Air Force, and city mayor Anatolii Bondarenko.

“An explosion was heard in Cherkasy and the surrounding areas,” journalists reported.

Mayor Bondarenko also warned residents about the threat and urged them to close all windows.

“Residents of Cherkasy! Please close your windows. More details to follow,” Mayor Anatolii Bondarenko wrote.

Local authorities have not yet provided an official comment on the situation. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Force has warned that the threat of a missile strike on Cherkasy remains.

Missile movement has been detected heading toward the city, with air targets reported to be moving in a southern or southeastern direction.

The threat of missile strikes also remains for the Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Poltava regions.

Earlier, amid Russia’s missile launches, air raid alerts were declared across Kyiv and multiple other regions of Ukraine. The threat of drone strikes also persists.

Russia’s combined attack on July 24

Overnight on July 24, Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine using Shahed drones and missiles.

In Odesa, drone strikes triggered multiple fires. Russia targeted the city’s historic center, damaging architectural landmarks protected by UNESCO.

Mykolaiv was also hit by Shahed drones. According to local authorities, fires broke out across the city. So far, no casualties have been reported.
