Explosions rock Moscow region as Russian air defenses open fire

On October 3, loud explosions were once again heard in the Moscow region amid a new attack by Ukraine's Defense Forces, Exilenova+ reports.
Residents of the region filmed Russian air defenses in action and immediately posted the videos on social media.
It became known that Russian air defenses were attempting to shoot down aerial targets. Against this backdrop, a series of loud explosions rocked the Moscow region.
So far, Russian authorities have not commented on the new attack by Ukraine's Defense Forces on the region.
It is also currently unknown what the Armed Forces of Ukraine used to strike the Moscow region this time — missiles or drones.

On the night of October 3, Ukrainian forces once again attacked various regions of Russia with hundreds of drones.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that 218 fixed-wing drones had allegedly been intercepted and destroyed.
The Russian ministry claims that the drones were allegedly neutralized over:
- Astrakhan region,
- Belgorod region,
- Bryansk region,
- Voronezh region,
- Kaluga region,
- Kursk region,
- Oryol region,
- Rostov region,
- Ryazan region,
- Smolensk region,
- Tula region.
The Russian Defense Ministry also claimed that drones were destroyed over the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, occupied Crimea, as well as over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
Ukraine's Defense Forces recently destroyed drone storage facilities belonging to Russia's Rubicon unit.
Record losses suffered by the Russian army in 2026 were also recently reported.
