Explosions rock Engels as drones attack, air defenses in action

Explosions were heard in the Russian city of Engels. The city is under attack by strike drones, and air defense systems are active, according to Russian social media sources.
It is noted that the drones targeted the Saratov region. According to residents, one of the drones was shot down over the city of Engels.
Eyewitnesses report the active work of air defense systems. Explosions began sounding over the city at around 3:50 a.m., with at least eight heard in total.
There has been no official information yet. Earlier, the governor of the Saratov region, Busargin, reported a threat of drone strikes.
“Information about the threat of UAVs has been received from the Ministry of Defense. Warning systems are operating locally in areas of possible threat. All emergency services have been put on full alert,” he said.
Amid the threat, the Carpet emergency plan has been activated at the airports of Saratov, Ulyanovsk, and Saint Petersburg, leading to the suspension of all arrivals and departures of flights.
Drone attacks on Russia
On the night of July 5, Russia was once again heavily attacked by strike drones.
Specifically, in the city of Cheboksary, drones targeted one of the local factories, causing a fire at the site of impact.
On the night of July 3, drones attacked the Energia plant in Yelets (Lipetsk region), which produces rocket components.
And on the night of July 1, drones attacked the defense plant Kupol in Izhevsk.
