Explosions were heard in the city of Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic. Residents recorded impacts and a fire at one of the local factories or warehouses, according to Russian social media sources.

According to the Telegram channel SHOT, about six explosions were heard in the city area, including over the village of Lapsary, located 10 km from Cheboksary.

Eyewitnesses said that drones attacked one of the local enterprises in the industrial zone in the southern part of the city. The exact facility targeted has not been specified.

Other residents report that the drones struck a warehouse, but it is not specified which one.

A fire broke out in Cheboksary following the explosions.

According to Astra, the fire in Cheboksary following the drone attack broke out in the area of the Vutherm boiler plant, located on Lapsarskyi Proezd. However, it is still unclear what exactly is burning.

Vutherm is a manufacturing enterprise in Cheboksary that operates as part of LLC SK Kub - a plant specializing in the development and production of fire-tube hot water and steam boilers.

Drone attacks on Russia

Almost every night, the European part of Russia is targeted by strike drones. The attacks hit infrastructure facilities, military sites, and defense factories.

On the night of July 3, drones attacked Lipetsk and the Lipetsk region. Among the targets was a local airfield. As a result of the strikes, there were casualties and injuries among residents.

Drone strikes also caused the temporary suspension of operations at the Tambov airport.

On the night of July 1, drones attacked the Kupol plant in Izhevsk.

Additionally, an oil refinery in the Saratov region was damaged.
